On April 11, a joint meeting of the collegiums of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus and the State Committee on Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus took place. Minister of Education of the Russian Federation O.Yu. Vasilyeva presented a report on the development of the education system in Russia and promising directions for the formation of a common educational space of the Union State. – As shown by a preliminary analysis of the systems of preschool and general education in Russia and Belarus, conceptual approaches to their development in a number of areas are unidirectional. Updating the content of education, specifying the requirements for subject results in each academic subject are also one of the key priorities of the educational policy of the Russian Federation, – said O.Yu. Vasilyeva. She informed that currently there is a discussion of draft updated federal state educational standards for primary general and basic general education. The document has been submitted for consideration to the Ministry of Education of Russia by the country’s leading pedagogical universities. The Minister also spoke in detail about the tasks of the national project “Education” and the federal all-Russian events included in it. State Secretary – Deputy Minister of Education of the Russian Federation P.S. Zenkovich drew attention to the prospects for the development of secondary vocational education (SVE) in Russia. – The admission to training programs for mid-level specialists is growing steadily. Here we see a guarantee of increasing the prestige of open source software, which makes it possible to find oneself in the labor market. Already more than 50 percent of schoolchildren choose secondary vocational education for the last two years after the 9th grade. Young people really appreciate this opportunity – to get a profession. They are in demand, in addition, then they can continue their studies in the higher education system, – the Deputy Minister emphasized. During the meeting of the collegiums, its participants discussed the formation of a common educational space of the Union State, the implementation of priority areas and priorities for the further development of the Union State for 2018-2022 in the field of education, science and youth policy, measures for the further integration of final and entrance examinations (Unified State Exam and CT), optimization of personnel training in accordance with Russian educational standards in the Republic of Belarus, as well as proposals for the development of exchange programs for gifted children and programs of additional education for teachers on the basis of the Sirius Educational Center and the national children’s technopark being created in Belarus and the current national children’s educational and health center “Zubrenok”. In conclusion, the protocol of the joint meeting of the collegiums of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus, the State Committee for Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus was signed.

On April 12, on Cosmonautics Day and on the International Day of the first manned flight into space, the Gagarin lesson “Space is us” is being held for the fourth year in a row in all schools of the Russian Federation.

The lesson is traditionally held not only in Russia, but also abroad. This year, with the support of Rossotrudnichestvo, it was organized in 97 countries of the world.

The cosmonauts of the “Interkosmos” program and astronauts take part in the Gagarin lesson. The start of the 2018/19 academic year lesson from the International Space Station was given by the participants of the 59th expedition, Heroes of Russia, cosmonaut pilots of the Russian Federation: the commander of the Roskosmos cosmonaut corps, the crew commander O.D. Kononenko and flight engineer A.N. Ovchinin.

– Learn, conquer new heights, be the first in everything! The start of the Gagarin lesson of the 2018/2019 academic year from the ISS is given. Go! – said, referring to the schoolchildren of the country, O.D. Kononenko.

The event was included by the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation in the Calendar of educational events for the 2018/19 academic year. Methodical recommendations for conducting the Gagarin lesson have been developed. 

Also, in preparation for the event, to help teachers, the department of museum pedagogy of the Memorial Museum of Cosmonautics in Moscow prepared information and reference materials, photo and video materials, methodological recommendations on significant space dates and anniversaries of 2019. They can be found on the museum’s website.  

In the Tambov region on September 1, a digital education center for children “IT-cube Tambov” will open. The center will appear as part of the implementation of the regional project “Digital educational environment” of the national project “Education”.

About 16 million rubles were allocated for its creation, of which subsidies from the federal budget amounted to almost 13 million, the funds of an industrial partner – 2.6 million rubles.

Training in “IT-cube. Tambov” will go in six directions: “Mobile development”, “Programming in Python”, “VR / AR development”, “Cyberhygiene and big data”, “System administration” and “Programming robots” …

It is planned that annually 400 children and adolescents aged 7 to 17 will be able to study at the center. More than 1,500 children from all cities and districts of the region will be involved in the events held by the IT-cube Tambov center together with partners.

“IT-cube” is a center for the education of children according to programs aimed at accelerating the development of relevant and demanded knowledge, skills and competencies in the field of information technology. The project forms a modern educational ecosystem that brings together companies – leaders of the IT market, experienced mentors and novice developers from 7 to 18 years old.

The Education National Project was approved by Russian President Vladimir Putin in 2018. It is designed to ensure the global competitiveness of Russian education, as well as the entry of the Russian Federation into the top ten countries in terms of the quality of general education. The project budget is 784.5 billion rubles. The implementation of the Education National Project will cover the period from 2019 to 2024.

On April 1, 2019, in all regions of the Russian Federation, a creative project for schoolchildren and students of secondary professional organizations began – the All-Russian essay competition.  

The nine thematic areas of the competition were drawn up taking into account the significant dates of 2019: 

1. The theater is alive as long as it has an audience: 2019 – the Year of the theater. 

2. Chemistry is an area of ​​miracles: 2019 – International Year of the Periodic Table of D.I. Mendeleev. 

3. Immortality of the people – in their language (Ch. Aitmatov): 2019 – International Year of Indigenous Languages. 

4. The writer is not the one who writes, but the one who is read: the anniversaries of Russian writers. 

5. A book is a comrade, it is a faithful friend (V. Sollogub): anniversaries of literary works. 

6. Ecology has become the loudest word on earth (V. Rasputin): why Russia needs clean energy and environmentally friendly transport. 

7. Guards and outposts of Russia. 

8. Childhood is a huge land where everyone comes example of a hero essay from (A. de Saint-Exupéry): the 70th anniversary of the International Children’s Day and the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the Convention on the Rights of the Child. 

9. Humanity does not lack knowledge, it lacks kindness (D. Granin). 

The regional stage of the competition will last until October 13, 2019, the federal stage – from October 14 to 23, 2019. 

The awards ceremony for the winners of the federal stage of the All-Russian Essay Competition 2019 will take place at a gala event in Moscow. 

In 2019, the All-Russian Essay Competition celebrates its first anniversary – it turns 5 years old. During this time, 3.5 million school and college students took part in it, 450 of them became winners. 

Drafts of the updated Federal State Educational Standards of Primary General and Basic General Education have been submitted for consideration to the Ministry of Education of Russia by the leading pedagogical universities of the country: the Russian State Pedagogical University (RGPU named after A.I. Herzen), Moscow Pedagogical State University (Moscow State Pedagogical University named after V.I. Lenin), Moscow City Pedagogical University (MGPU). 

The task of updating the Federal State Educational Standard and the approximate basic educational programs, including taking into account the priorities of the scientific and technological development of the Russian Federation, was set by the President of the country and enshrined in the instructions for the implementation of the President’s message to the Federal Assembly. 

These requirements preserve the fundamental nature of education, strengthen interdisciplinary and intrasubject connections.
